Akdamar Church (The Church of the Holy Cross) in Van stands as a witness to over a thousand years of history. Once closed after the Russian invasion of 1915 and reopened after restoration in 2010, the church comes alive during the annual ritual, as people engage with its walls and space, infusing centuries-old stone with meaning. This work captures that moment, reflecting how history, faith, and human presence converge in a place of enduring cultural and spiritual significance.
